Take your ultrasound skills beyond the basics with a dedicated 3-day hands-on Vascular Ultrasound Workshop.
This course is designed for healthcare professionals who want to develop a systematic approach to vascular ultrasound, understand Doppler properly, and gain extensive practical experience scanning peripheral veins, arteries and carotid vessels.
The emphasis is on hands-on scanning and interpretation.
You will see the technique demonstrated, perform the examination yourself, acquire your own images and receive direct instructor feedback on probe position, vessel identification, Doppler settings, measurements and interpretation.
The programme is built around the major components commonly included in comprehensive vascular ultrasound training, including peripheral venous and arterial examinations, carotid/vertebral assessment and Doppler principles. (efsumb.org)
Before the Workshop — Online Preparation
Before attending the practical course, participants receive online preparatory material covering the foundations required for the hands-on sessions.

What You’ll Actually Do
Across three full days you will:
- Scan real patients/models under supervision
- Identify arteries and veins systematically
- Practice transverse and longitudinal vessel imaging
- Perform compression ultrasound
- Use color Doppler correctly
- Obtain spectral Doppler waveforms
- Optimize Doppler angle and settings
- Assess flow characteristics
- Perform vascular measurements
